Same day dental implants — also called immediate load implants — allow a titanium implant post and a temporary crown to be placed in a single appointment. Instead of waiting months before receiving any restoration, you leave our Wakefield office with a tooth in place the same day your implant is placed.
The implant still requires a healing period of 2 to 4 months for full osseointegration — the process of the implant fusing to the jawbone. During that time your temporary crown is carefully adjusted so it does not interfere with your bite. Once fully healed, your permanent custom crown is placed by our team.
